TENACIOUS

"firmly holding on to something
or to do something
for longer than might be expected"
from the Oxford English Dictionary

Reflecting upon the word "tenacious" I envision several well known individuals who because of their "tenacious" attitude and behavior made significant impact on humanity, i.e. Sir Isaac Newton, Marie Curie, Thomas Edison, Leonardo Da Vinci, Ludwig Van Beethoven, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Elvis Presley, Mark Twain, William Shakespeare, George Orwell, Henry Ford, Neil Armstrong, Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, Babe Ruth and many, many more.

Each of these individual were one of the best at their craft because they were "tenacious."   They held "firmly" to their dreams, their goals.  Each were willing to work at their craft "longer" thank expected by or of others.

We are now into the third week of your final term for this school year.  I want....NO....I need you to be "tenacious."   I need you to "hold on firmly" to staying focused on your studies.  I need you to "be willing to work" at preparing yourself for your quizzes, examinations and projects beyond the expectations of others.

SENIORS, you have just finished your IELTS and SAT examinations.  I want you to be "tenacious regarding your future, your goals."  If you are not satisfied with your IELTS and/or SAT scores, take them again until you get the score you desire.    Many of you have yet to complete you IC3 certifications.   Do not quit or give up on yourself.  Be "tenacious" and get your IC3 certification.

To all ATHS Dubai students...be "tenacious."   Care enough about yourself to be the best you can be.  Do Not accept anything less.

Mr. Warren
